On December 6, 2020, Patricia Elaine Suberroc passed away from complications resulting from Kidney cancer and a hip fracture at age 68.
Born and raised in Ramsey, New Jersey, Patricia attended Douglass College in New Brunswick, New Jersey and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. Shortly after graduation, she married and happily began the next phase of life with her husband Donald in Pennsylvania. While there, she worked as an English teacher, and then they moved to Virginia.
Donald and Patricia welcomed their daughter Lisa in 1979.
After initially working in financial services following the move to Virginia, Patricia started her career in school support, playing a vital role in several school offices throughout Fairfax County. At each, she was a smiling, friendly face for both students and teachers. Patricia spent the longest time serving as the Principal’s Administrative Assistant at Edison High School, serving three different principals and being, in one principal’s words, “the back bone of Edison”.
After retirement, Patricia and Donald traveled extensively to exciting locations, including Russia and Argentina. They were also frequent visitors to Florida to visit their daughter Lisa. Patricia loved the beach where she was happiest.
Beloved wife, mother, and friend, Patricia was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Her infectious sense of humor and zest for life brightened the days of anyone who knew her. Her positive attitude in the face of the kidney cancer was an inspiration to everyone around her.
She is survived by husband, Donald, and daughter, Lisa Bradford and her husband Brian. Also survived by her brother Randy Mayo, and sister-in-law Kathy, along with her in laws Michael and Dorene Durley, with nephews Mathew (wife Liveidia) Durley and Scott (wife Linda) Durley.
The family is not having a service at this time due to COVID-19, but anyone who would like to celebrate her memory could please do so by donating to Planned Parenthood or NARAL, two organizations she strongly supported.
A Celebration of Life ceremony is planned for a future date and location TBD.
