Marguerite Winder

Marguerite Ann Winder (formerly Guter also known as Rite and Maggie) passed away
peacefully on May 13, 2021 in Arlington, Virginia.
Marguerite was born at Camp Lejeune, NC and grew up in Vienna, VA. She attended James
Madison High School in Vienna, VA and held an associates’ degree in criminal justice. She was
employed by the Virginia Department of Corrections.
Marguerite is the daughter of the late Joseph Gibson Guter of Latrobe, PA and is survived by her
mother Ann Guter of McLean, VA, brother Don Guter and sister-in-law Pat Guter of Washington
DC. Also surviving Marguerite are her nieces Kerry Goltsov of Nashua, NH and Kelly Sudovar
of Bloomfield, NJ, her step-mother Jackie Guter of Charlottesville, VA, her aunts Ellen Mulville
and Edith Guter of Camp Hill, PA and her long-time companion Dan Cunningham of Arlington,
VA.
There are no services planned at this time. No flowers please. Donations can be received at the
Animal Welfare League of Arlington in Marguerite’s memory.

I called her Rite. She became my second sister after becoming friends through our job at Fairfax Correctional Unit. I will always miss my friend. We didn't get to see each other often but we talked texted and planned for a visit we never got to have. I will always love my bestie. Rest easy my friend your work on earth is done.
