Judith Mills, 65, passed Saturday, July 15, 2023. Judy was born on July 1, 1958 in Arlington, Virginia to James W. Puckett and Geraldine “Dolly” Puckett. She grew up in Northern Virginia with her sisters, Barbara (Puckett) Miller and Jerry (Puckett) Monroe and late brothers, James “Jimmy” Puckett and Thomas “Tommy” Puckett. Judy had a close relationship with her brothers, Jimmy and Tommy and formed a lasting bond with her sisters, Barbara and Jerry who were devoted to Judy as she bravely fought to survive metastatic breast cancer year after year. Her brother-in-law Jack and former brother-in-law, Lambert had a positive influence on her life. She had close relationships with her sister-in-laws, Julie and Lisa. Judy grew up surrounded by aunts, uncles and cousins and formed lifelong friendships with her cousins. Many times during her growing up years she spent countless hours at her Aunt Jean and Uncle Peck’s house hanging out with her favorite cousin, Jeannie.
Judy was full of life; funny, kind, loving and compassionate…..she always lifted everyones spirit. She brightened the lives of those who knew her. Judy touched the hearts of lonely people who needed an ear to listen and someone to care.
Judy loved music and loved to dance. Judy and her sisters performed at a karaoke party many years ago singing “These Boots are Made for Walking”. It would become their signature song and the name Twisted Sisters became their affectionate name for each other.
Her family and extended family meant the world to her. She was proud of her nieces and nephews….always baking cupcakes on holidays and filling Easter baskets with goodies.
She loved gardening and her vegetables and flowers thrived under her care…her sisters called her “Ms. Greenjeans”.
She is survived by her long time partner, Floyd “Eddie” Lewis.
No longer struggling she is in the loving arms of Jesus and enjoying her reunion with her Mom, Dad, brothers and relatives and rejoicing!
