Joshua Wray, age 36, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. He was much beloved by his wife Kristina and their two children, Wilcox and Zoey. His is also survived by his parents, brother, and family.
Joshua was a 2003 graduate of the Model Secondary School for the Deaf, on the campus of Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. While at MSSD he was a recognized multi-sport athlete, earning varsity letters and individual team honors in wrestling, baseball and cheer.
Joshua had a reputation for being a dedicated worker and earned praise from his supervisors in the field of construction, as a finish carpenter, as well as in the food service industry as a chef.
He also brought great joy to his family and friends with his circus skills and talents. He was a member of Oakview Circus Club, where he was a lead unicyclist also specializing in acrobatics and juggling. As a result of his advanced skills in these areas, he was recruited to spend a summer as an exchange performer in the Belfast Community Circus in Belfast, Ireland.
Through his athleticism, Joshua would also go on to earn a 5th degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Doe and demonstrate fearlessness on a snowboard.
