Herb was, first and foremost, a patriot. He loved America and devoted his life to service
in many unique capacities. He started his service career in the United States Navy and
received an honorable discharge after six years of active duty service. He continued his
60 plus year National Security career working in several federal agencies taking on
many challenging assignments.
Herb was always drawn to law enforcement and he became active at the local, state
and federal level. He worked with several police departments and assisted them in
solving cases and reducing crime. He worked directly with the U.S. Marshals and the
International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) helping police of the 195 member
countries to work together and make the world a safer place.
Those who knew Herb found him to be a man of action. He liked to get things done.
Herb was constantly looking to be involved in meaningful ways and helping others, and
he had much success. His very open demeanor befriended many at all levels and he
enjoyed building new relationships.
Herb always loved the ocean. He was a good sailor and diver. On land, he loved fast
cars and was a Harley-Davidson fan. He could often be found riding the roads on his
motorcycle.
A career of distinction describes Herb Bryant, but his true legacy is represented by his
children and grandchildren.
A “Celebration of Life” is being planned for the fall of 2023.
