George A. Snodgrass, 82, of Arlington, Virginia, passed away on July 10, 2024. He was the beloved husband of R. Joyce (Moreno) Snodgrass, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.
Born on October 5, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri, he was the son of the late Edmund and Juanita (Winfrey) Snodgrass. He spent most of his childhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, until he joined the Army in 1961. He proudly served for six years as a Military Police Officer while stationed in Japan; he was a skilled sharpshooter. After the Army, he moved to Arlington, Virginia where he met his wife, Joyce. He taught himself computer programming skills and opened his own business, writing programs for veterinarians until his retirement. He loved family reunions where he always took hundreds of pictures to share with his family. His interests included photography, sports, and politics.
George is survived by his wife, Joyce, and his stepson, David (Donna) Puckett; four grandchildren, Lisa (Dante) Didigu, Laura (Bill) Shifflett, Sunshine Puckett, and Jon David Puckett; two brothers, Bill (Karen) Snodgrass, Jim Snodgrass, and one sister, Margaret (Ron) Hawkins; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by one brother, John Snodgrass and his stepson, Jon Puckett.
A celebration of George’s life will be held in October.
