Freddy Rodriguez Paredes passed away on January 6, 2021 at the age of 63, in his hometown of Arlington, Virginia. His battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile as he was determined to fight and stay strong. On his final days he was surrounded by his wife, children and grandkids, who he adored more than anything else in the world.
He was born on January 1, 1958 to Honorato Rodriguez Alarcon and Silveria Paredes Serpentegui in Catavi, Bolivia. He grew up in Catavi, Bolivia with his father, mother, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Freddy and Rosario Maldonado were united in marriage in 1979, in Cochabamba, Bolivia going on to have 3 children, Olivia (Babie), Erick and Edwin.
He retired from AAFES as a Regional Marketing Manager after working more than 25 years. It was not his first job but through hard work and determination he ended there and was very proud to have.
Freddy was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned.
He also had a passion in creating, designing, and simply making things. He often could be found editing photographs, making banners for birthdays, designing art to hang on walls and much more for family and friends. He led a very adventurous life, visiting and photographing the many Nationals Parks in the area. One thing he enjoyed the most was spending time with his grandkids, making sure he was there for all graduations and births to spending time with them.
Freddy was predeceased by his brother Edwin Rodriguez Paredes, mother Silveria Paredes Serpentegui, father Honorato Rodriguez Alarcon, and sister Hortencia Rodriguez Paredes and her husband Juan Medrano.
He is survived by his wife Rosario M. Rodriguez; daughter Olivia S. Carriveau and husband Jonathan A. Carriveau; sons Erick V. Rodriguez and Edwin Rodriguez; grandchildren Cristian O. Johnson, Logan M. Carriveau and Levi M. Carriveau; brothers Adalid Rodriguez Paredes and his wife Cecilia Casanova Loza, Julian Rodriguez Paredes and his wife Ayda Juana Torrico Aguilar; and his sister Matilde Rodriguez Paredes; along with many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Anyone who knew Freddy knew that he was the most loving father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle and friend could ask for. He will be greatly missed by all.
