Louise Catherine Hill (nee Froelicher) passed away quietly at the age of 87 in Alexandria, Virginia. Born in Rochester, NY on May 16, 1932 of the late Joseph and Louise (Stoick) Froelicher and predeceased by her brother Alois Froelicher. She is survived by her six children, Thomas, James (Paytra Mass), John (Lisa) , Cathy-Lee Ann Hastings (David), Gregory (Xiang) and Scott (Debbie), eleven grandchildren (Cheri-Lynne, James, Taylor, Randy, Robert, Crystal, Zachary, Shawn, Leah, Joshua and Rachel), twelve great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Betty Froelicher, many beloved nieces, nephews and many extended family members.
She had an exuberant and joyous spirit that made everyone comfortable and happy to be around her. As the young wife of a US Marine, she raised her family on military bases including Camp Pendleton, CA, Camp Lejeune, NC, Quantico, VA, and finally settled in Spencerport, later moving to Webster to be where she began her working career as a security guard at Xerox. Ultimately finding her dream job at Rochester Institute of Technology’s downtown campus Louise loved going out on her lunch hour and secretly “feeding” the expired parking meters of complete strangers so they wouldn’t have an unexpected parking ticket, just to anonymously wish them a great day. She loved being with and helping people in every way and went out of her way to assist anyone in need.
Interment and memorial services will be conducted at a later date and will be held in Rochester, NY. The family humbly requests that any gifts being considered be made to either the Humane Society of Greater Rochester/Lollypop Farm ( ) or Alzheimer’s Association ( ) in her memory.
